Our Interests
Ajoriya Foundation envisions a future where heritage is woven into everyday life - shaping education, livelihoods and digital storytelling. We preserve cultural knowledge, expand access, and support inclusive, community-led cultural ecosystems through research, infrastructure, public engagement and capacity-building.
Research, Documentation & Advocacy
We focus on preserving cultural knowledge by identifying endangered collections and traditions and documenting them in close collaboration with the communities that are their custodians. We also collaborate with schools, universities, and cultural institutions to create learning resources grounded in local histories and knowledge systems, while contributing to policy dialogues that support inclusive, community-led approaches to heritage.

Strengthening Cultural Infrastructures
We invest in building long-term cultural infrastructures by supporting the creation and sustainability of archives, museums, and cultural spaces, particularly in underserved regions. Our grant programmes offer sustained support to underfunded areas such as independent archiving, publishing and translation. Through partnerships, we connect schools, universities, museums, libraries, and archives to foster more resilient and interconnected cultural ecosystems.

Capacity-Building & Cultural Equity
We support the people who sustain cultural practices, while recognising the precarity and rigour that often shape cultural work. We advocate for fair pay, dignity of labour, and gender-sensitive hiring practices, while advocating for more equitable cultural infrastructures. Through capacity-building workshops and grassroots collaborations, we enable ethical and inclusive knowledge documentation while expanding our reach into underserved regions.

Access & Public Engagement
We expand access to cultural knowledge across geographies and audiences. Our exhibitions, talks, film screenings and heritage walks (led by experts and designed for diverse groups) create multiple entry points for people to engage with history and culture. We use digital technologies to design everyday objects and learning tools, extending the reach and accessibility of our work.
